Robert Branstetter
Robert BranstetterFounding Owner, Vice-President/Semi-Retired

Robert Branstetter Jr. (Bob) started accounting and income tax work as a part-time job in 1967 while working full time as a firefighter in Boca Raton. His interest stemmed from his mother who had been working for the Blum family as an accountant/bookkeeper for a few years. In 1983 Bob decided to open his own accounting and tax firm. He became a licensed Enrolled Agent with the IRS in 1975 and has since met the annual continuing education hours required each year to maintain his license. In 2000 Bob relocated to Okeechobee, FL to start enjoying the fruits of his labor in semi-retirement. Bob has remained active in the firm and works full time servicing his clientele during tax season. He is available during the off season months for any client needing his advice in tax matters. When Bob is not at the office, you can find him on the golf-course, working in his yard, or traveling the country in his RV.

Tammy L. Schmidt
Tammy L. Schmidt President /Tax Professional/Current Owner

Tammy Schmidt came to work for her father in 1986 and put her organizational talents to work. She has learned the tax and accounting business from the bottom up. She became a licensed Enrolled Agent with the IRS in 1999. After the company reorganized in 2005, she became the managing owner. Tammy specializes in small business taxes and has developed a system to help small business owners focus solely on managing and growing their business. Her other area of specialty is ITIN Applications and Certifications as she is a Certified Acceptance Agent. She also is very experienced in representing foreign sellers in their FIRPTA tax requirements and filings. Because of Tammy’s experience and straight-forward, but friendly attitude, her clients feel comfortable calling year-round to ask her about anything. She will always make the time to listen and give an honest fair answer. She genuinely cares for her clients many have been with her for over 30 years! When Tammy is not working, she enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time with her adult children.

Jennifer L. Jenkins
Jennifer L. JenkinsSecretary/Treasurer/Sr. Tax Professional

Jennifer L. Jenkins is the daughter of Tammy Schmidt and graduated with her Masters in Accounting from Florida State University in 2011 (Go Noles!). After graduation she accepted a job with one of the Big Four accounting firms, Deloitte, in Atlanta, GA where she worked extensively on large real estate funds and earned her Florida CPA license. Jennifer gained a wealth of knowledge about partnerships during her two years at Deloitte, but her desire to spend more time with her now husband drew her to seek an opportunity to work for a local firm in Tallahassee, FL where they currently reside. It didn’t take long for her to realize her true passion lies in working with small businesses and individuals and who better to learn from than her mother who’d been doing just that for almost 30 years! Since coming onboard to Branstetter team in 2015, Jennifer has taken on the role of our Sr. business tax return specialist, reviewing and preparing almost every business tax return. She is also in charge of the quarterly payroll tax reporting for our business clients. In addition, she assists several small business clients, helping them with their bookkeeping and quickbooks. Not only is Jennifer in charge of the business tax returns but she also prepares the individual tax returns for our “drop-off” clients. With her strong academic background and knowledge gained from previous jobs, she is Tammy’s right hand and go-to for any tax research related question! Jennifer works remotely from Tallahassee and travels to Delray Beach often. In a short time she has made herself an integral part of the business. Jennifer has one child and looks forward to expanding her family and Tammy looks forward to taking more time off in the future to be with those grandchildren!

Doug Buntyn
Doug BuntynAssistant Tax Professional

Doug R. Buntyn was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas where he graduated with his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2011. After graduation he jumped right into working for small accounting firms. This is where he found his passion for working with small business and individual tax returns. In 2017 he and his family had an amazing opportunity to move to Florida. Not long after the move, he was hired by Branstetter Tax. Doug is a QuickBooks Certified ProAdvisor on both the desktop version and online. Doug is the go to person in the Branstetter Firm for any Quickbooks related questions our clients have and manages any of our business clients who need onsite accounting work. In his free time Doug enjoys going to the beach, traveling, exploring all that S. Florida has to offer, and being with his family. Doug is passionate about being involved with his local community and donates his time to various charities and organizations.

Lauren Bellomo
Lauren BellomoAssistant Tax Professional

Lauren Bellomo was born in Nassau County Long Island and grew up in a small New Jersey town right outside of New York City. She has been a student at Florida Atlantic University since 2014 and will be receiving her Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting in May. Lauren started as an intern at Branstetter Tax in January of 2016 and immediately fit right in. She was hired as a full time Junior Accountant and bookkeeper shortly after and has continued to flourish and grow with our firm. She currently manages the business clients who need weekly payroll processing and bookkeeping. She assists several small homeowner/condo associations with their monthly collections and bill paying. Lauren runs the office when Tammy is out of town enjoying her time off. She is currently studying for her Enrolled Agent certification and plans on sitting for her CPA once she has graduated. When she is not at work or in class, Lauren enjoys spending time outdoors, playing guitar, fitness, gardening, and spending time with her family.

Rachel Vermette
Rachel VermetteAdministrative Assistant/Front Office Manager

Rachel A. Vermette was born and raised in a small town in Western Massachusetts. After graduating high school, she continued her education at a local community college. While in college, Rachel was employed at her father’s auto body shop as an office manager. She handled the daily operations of the shop and became very familiar with the Quickbooks program, which made her transition to the Branstetter office manager practically seamless. Rachel is the smiling face of the front desk and the friendly voice on the other side of the phone. She is in charge of scheduling all of our tax appointments as well as any of our clients’ off tax season needs. When she is not working in the office, she enjoys fishing, cooking, watching football (Go Eagles), and spending time with her friends and family.
